The Prime Minister of Dominica, Roosevelt Skerrit, has assumed the chairmanship of the 15-member Caribbean Community, CARICOM.
The CARICOM Secretariat said Prime Minister Skerrit took up the post on January 1, and will be in office for a six-month period.
He replaces Guyana’s President, Bharrat Jagdeo, who served in the position from July 1 to December 31 last year.
At the end of the six months the chairmanship will pass to Haiti.
