Stoke withstood a second half Fulham comeback to win 3-2 and move into the top half of the English Premier League yesterday.

Tuncay\'s 12th minute, close-range header was followed by strikes from Abdoulaye Faye and Mamady Sidibe before halftime to give Stoke a 3-0 lead.

However, Fulham substitute Clint Dempsey, set up Damian Duff to pull one back in the 61st and the American striker got on the score sheet himself with a spectacular dipping strike in the 85th from 35 metres.

Stoke moved up to 10th in the standings, 3 points and a place behind Fulham after 20 matches.

Tuesday\'s other match, the first leg of the League Cup semifinal between Blackburn and Aston Villa, was called off earlier in the day due to the extreme weather in northern England.
