Inter Milan start 2010 with a win

Mario Balotelli scored an early goal today to give Serie ‘A’ leader Inter Milan a 1-0 win over Chievo Verona in the first game after the winter break.



The young striker linked up with new signing Goran Pandev and midfielder, Wesley Sneijder in the 12th minute to beat Chievo goalkeeper Stefano Sorrentino.



The victory gives Inter 42 points, 9 more than Juventus, who beat Parma 2-1.



AC Milan can move ahead of Juventus with a win in the late match against Genoa, with David Beckham expected to make his return to Series ‘A.’



Also today, Napoli beat Atalanta 2-0, Bari blanked Udinese 2-0, Catania edged Bologna 1-0, Lazio defeated Livorno 4-1, Fiorentina hammered Siena 5-1, while the match between Sampdoria and Palermo ended 1-1.
