Honduran prosecutors have charged three military chiefs with abuse of power in connection with the ousting and exile of President Manuel Zelaya last June.
Under the Honduran constitution, it is illegal to forcibly remove citizens from the country.
The Supreme Court will now decide whether to start a case against the accused.
Mr. Zelaya was forced from office by a military coup in June last year.
He was flown out of the country, but returned last September and remains in the Brazilian embassy in Honduras.
