The people of St. Kitts and Nevis will be going to the polls on January 25.
Prime Minister, Denzil Douglas made the announcement at a political rally last night.
Nomination Day is to be held 10 days earlier on January 15.
The governing Labour Party\'s main rival in the election, is the opposition People\'s Action Movement which had only one seat in the outgoing parliament.
The two sides are now locked in a legal battle over constituency boundary changes that the government has been trying to introduce.
The elections are likely to be contested on the existing boundaries.
