Former Grenada PM justifies economic policies

Former Prime Minister of Grenada, Dr Keith Mitchell has sought to justify the economic policies and public spending of his New National Party (NNP) administration.



Dr Mitchell led the last government for 13 consecutive years until his party lost the general elections in July last year.



He said his administration had no choice but to borrow money to develop the country.



According to Dr Mitchell, during his tenure the government invested heavily in infrastructure and other economic areas such as education and health while at the same time growing the economy.
