Another grenade attack in Belize

Law enforcement officials in Belize say a truce between rival gangs may have been broken after another grenade explosion this morning.

No one was reported injured in the latest attack.

Last week, Prime Minister Dean Barrow, his National Security Minister Carlos Perdomo, Police Commissioner Crispin Jeffries and senior police officers met with the rival gang leaders.

The meeting followed an increase in murders, including the death of 14-year-old Rudolph Flowers, who was killed when a grenade was tossed into a crowd of young people late last month.

Jeffries says the police have been looking at the use of grenades since 2008 when one person was killed in a similar incident.

Meanwhile the police say they have launched a massive investigation following the last grenade incident.
