UWI Cave Hill defeat UTECH Knights in Cricket Classic

Defending champions, University of West Indies Cave Hill defeated hosts University of Technology Knights by 17 runs as the second staging of the UTECH Cricket Classic bowled off yesterday.



UWI Cave Hill, who won the toss and decided to bat were bowled out for 105 off 19.4 overs and UTECH Knights could only manage 98 for 9 off their allotted 20 overs.



In the day’s other match, GC Foster College defeated newcomer Southampton Solent University by 8 wickets.



Southampton batted first and made 108 for 8 off their allotted 20 overs and GC Foster College replied with 109 for 2 off 13.3 overs.



The competition continues today with UTECH Knights playing UWI Mona at 9:30 a.m. and Mico facing GC Foster College at 1:30p.m.



Both matches will be played at the UTECH cricket field.
