Jamaica’s Under-20 female football squad is scheduled to depart the country this morning at 7:15 to compete in the CONCACAF Under-20 Championships in Guatemala.

The Championships serves as a qualifier for the FIFA World Cup.

Jamaica will play their first game on Thursday against the defending Under-20 World Cup champions, United States before tackling the Mexicans on Friday.

The young Reggae Girls will play their final Group ‘A’ match on January 25 against Trinidad and Tobago.

Group ‘B’ consists of hosts Guatemala, Canada, Cuba and Costa Rica and only three of the eight teams will qualify for the FIFA World Cup set for Germany in July of this year.

The group winners will qualify automatically, while the third team will be decided by a playoff between the second-placed teams from the two groups.
