Butts hoping Aussies tour lays foundation
West Indies Chief Selector, Clyde Butts said he hopes the upcoming one-day series in Australia will be the start of a positive run for the regional side.
Butts say the players have been working hard and are expected to do well in Australia.
After the Australia tour, West Indies will return home for the series against Zimbabwe in late February and March.
West Indies will play five One-Day Internationals and two 20/20 in Australia from February 4-23 before clashing with the touring Zimbabweans in five One-Day Internationals and a single 20/20.
The home series against Zimbabwe will bowl off on February 28.
West Indies will then host the 20/20 World Cup starting April 30 before taking on South Africa in three Tests and five One-Day Internationals, which bowls off May 19.
