Wavell Hinds guides Jamaica to 239 for six

Discarded West Indies batsman Wavell Hinds hit an unbeaten half century to guide champions Jamaica to 239 for six at stumps on today’s opening day of their third round match in the WICB regional four-day competition against Guyana.



The match is being played at Four Square Oval in Barbados.



Hinds is on 71 and with him is Carlton Baugh Junior on 29.



Danza Hyatt 18, Donovan Pagon zero, captain Tamar Lambert 3, Brenton Parchment 49, Brendan Nash 43 and David Bernard Junior 15 are back in the pavilion.



Brandon Bess, four for 65 and Veerasammy Permaul, two for 49, have taken the wickets for Guyana.



Over at Kensington Oval Trinidad and Tobago, sent in to bat by Barbados, reached 271 for nine at stumps.



At the 3Ws Oval, Windward Islands, replying to Combined Campuses and Colleges’ first innings total of 158, closed on 89 for two.



The Jamaicans are leading the table with maximum 24 points. They are followed by Barbados on 15 points and Combined Campuses and Colleges on 12.
