Jamaica beat Guyana by innings and 27 runs

Reigning champions, Jamaica completed an innings and 27 runs victory over Guyana on today’s fourth and final day of their third round match in the West Indies Cricket Board regional first-class championships at Four Square Oval in Barbados.



As a result of the victory, Jamaica have climbed to maximum 36 points from three matches and are well on their way of claiming three straight titles.



They are followed by Barbados on 15 and Windward Islands and Combined Campuses on 12 each.



Guyana, who resumed this morning on 161 for 4, needing a further 102 runs to make Jamaica bat a second time, could only add another 75 runs.



They were bowled out for 236 in their second innings, with Dave Bernard Junior ending with 6 wickets for 40 runs off 16.5 overs.



Nikita Miller supported with 2 for 50.



Final scores in the match are Jamaica 429, Guyana 166 and 236.



Over at Kensington Oval, Trinidad and Tobago, trailing by 115 runs on first innings, declared their second innings at 412 for 9 at lunch on today’s final day, setting Barbados a victory target of 297.



Scores in that match are T&T 271 for 9 declared and 412 for 9 declared, Barbados 386.



The round’s other match ended yesterday with Windward Islands beating Combined Colleges and Campuses by 9 wickets at Cave Hill.
