Barbados narrowly avoid defeat against T&T

Over at Kensington Oval, Trinidad and Tobago ended just two wickets short of an unlikely victory, as Barbados were made to hang on for dear life on the final evening of their third round match.



The Barbadian ninth-wicket pair of Patrick Browne and Kemar Roach batted out the last 5 overs to keep the rampaging Trinis at bay, as leg-spinner Imran Khan again tormented the hosts by grabbing 4 for 51.



Set an unlikely victory target of 298 off 61 overs after Trinidad declared their second innings at 412 for 9 at lunch, Barbados ended on 193 for 8 when the match ended.



Final scores in that match are T&T 271 for 9 declared and 412 for 9 declared, Barbados 386 and 193 for 8.



The round’s other match ended on Sunday with Windward Islands beating Combined Colleges and Campuses by 9 wickets at Cave Hill.
