Canada to arrive tonight for friendly against Jamaica
The Canadian National Football Team is scheduled to arrive in the country tonight at 8:45 to face Jamaica in a football friendly on Sunday at the National Stadium.
The team, coached by Trinidad and Tobago-born Stephen Hart, will stage its first training session the following day at St George’s College, beginning at 11:00 in the morning.
Three Under-23 players have been drafted in Canada’s squad. The young players are forward Randy Edwini-Bonsu, midfielder Derek Gaudet and goalkeeper Michal Misiewicz.
Exciting 28-year-old Julian de Guzman, who has Jamaican parentage and played four years in La Liga with Deportiva La Coruna, is also in the squad.
The Jamaica Football Federation will use the game as the starting point of the Reggae Boys 2014 FIFA World Cup campaign.
