The Economic Affairs Minister in Barbados Minister David Estwick has called for a wage freeze and the sale of state assets to help the government deal with the worsening economy.
Mr Estwick says the government is spending over US$450 million a year, which is far more than what it is earning in revenue.
He also says the government wants civil servants to forego a promised four per cent pay increase to help the David Thompson-led administration cut expenditure.
