Four schoolboys named to Reggae Boyz squad
Striker Luton Shelton and defender Tyrone Marshall were not included in Jamaica’s 23-member squad now preparing for the away friendly international against Argentina next Wednesday.
Shelton, who is now contracted to Sweden’s Valerenga and Marshall, who plays for US Major League team Seattle Sounders have returned to their clubs following the Reggae Boyz 1-0 victory over Canada on Sunday at the National Stadium.
Meanwhile, four schoolboys have been included in the Reggae Boyz squad.
Among the four is Manchester High School’s midfielder Jason Johnson who was involved in the previous camp when the Reggae Boyz were preparing to face Canada.
The three new schoolboys are Orrett Fisher and Devon Williams of St George’s College and Jameel Hardware of Bridgeport High.
Tivoli Gardens’ Under-21 and Digicel Premier League representative Dane Kelly has also earned his first call to the country’s senior squad; while Waterhouse goalkeeper Richard McCallum has been recalled.
New York Red Bulls forward/midfielder Dane Richards, who was not involved in the game against Canada, has made a return to the squad.
The squad also includes five other overseas-based players.
