Trade and economic ministers of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) are now meeting in Guyana to discuss the state of the implementation of the CARICOM Single Market and Economy (CSME).

The Guyana-based CARICOM Secretariat says the meeting of the Council for Trade and Economic Development (COTED) will continue tomorrow.

It’s expected to scrutinise a report on the appraisal of the CSME that had been discussed by senior CARICOM officials last month.

The CARICOM Secretariat says delegates have been told that while the CARICOM Single Market aspect of the CSME has been working.

However, there is need for a greater level of consistency among member states.
