Dale Steyn led South Africa\'s attack with eight wickets to dominate today’s third day of the first test, ripping through Indian batting to force the follow on at Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in India.

In their second innings, India also lost both openers as Gautam Gambhir was bowled by Morne Morkel for one and Virender Sehwag followed for 16, leaving the home side on 66 for 2, still 259 runs behind South Africa\'s first-innings total of 558 for six declared.

India batsmen Murali Vijay 27 and Sachin Tendulkar 15 are the batsmen at the crease.

Steyn emerged as the chief threat for the visitors as he bagged his eight for 65 runs, with seven coming in the first innings.

Steyns return was a career best, beating the 6 for 49 he achieved at Centurion against New Zealand in 2007.

Earlier, India’s first innings lasted for just 64.4 overs. They were bowled out for 233 after resuming on their overnight score of 25 without loss.

Scores in the match are South Africa 558 for six declared, India 233 and 66 for two.
