2010 Eastern Champs launched

The first major athletics competition for the 2010 high school calendar year, the Eastern Secondary Schools Sports Association Championships will take place on February 15 and 16 at the National Stadium.



The two-day meet, sponsored by Jamaica National Building Society (JNBS) and Jamaica Public Service (JPS), was launched earlier today at the Terra Nova All-Suite Hotel in Kingston.



Twenty-two schools from the parishes of St Thomas, Portland, St Mary as well as sections of St Andrew and St Catherine are slated to participate.



Oberlin High School of Lawrence Tavern in St Andrew are defending champions, while Glengoffe were runners-up last year.
