Less than two weeks after losing the leadership of the United National Congress, Basdeo Panday has suffered another blow with resignation of the executive team of his Couva North constituency en masse.

To make matters worse for Panday, a former prime minister, the members of the executive announced their support for the party’s new leader, Kamla Persad Bissessar.

Chairman of the constituency executive, Orlando Nagessar says in light of the shift in support for Mr Panday, the members felt that as a matter of principle, the current executive should remove itself and make way for a new one.
