The Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) has appointed former Test pacer Reon King and Robin Singh to beef up its management staff for the struggling national team in the WICB Regional first class tournament.

King comes in as assistant coach to Ravindra Seeram and Singh will be team analyst as the GCB tries to lift bottom of the table Guyana for the remaining matches in the regional first class season.

The Guyanese, who finished last in the 2009 first class season without a single victory, are currently last in the 2010 standings on seven points, a bulky 29 points off leaders Jamaica with three rounds remaining.

The Guyanese play Barbados at Albion in the fifth round starting Friday.

It is hoped that the inclusion of the pair to the now three-man coaching staff and the availability of Guyana’s most successful Test batsman Shivnarine Chanderpaul should improve Guyana’s fortunes.
