Former US President Bill Clinton is reportedly doing well after undergoing a heart procedure in New York City for complaints of a discomfort in his chest.

The 63-year-old had two stents - wire-mesh tubes that help the flow of blood placed in a coronary artery at Columbia Presbyterian hospital.

His counsellor, Douglas Band says he’s in good spirits.

Mr Clinton had quadruple-bypass surgery in September 2004 after experiencing chest pains and shortness of breath.
