Dwight Thomas, Shereefa Lloyd third in Stockholm

Dwight Thomas and Shereefa Lloyd were the best placed Jamaican athletes at the GE Galan indoor track and field meeting in Stockholm, Sweden over the weekend.
Thomas clocked 7.66 seconds for third in the men’s 60-metre hurdles won by sprint hurdles star Dayron Robles of Cuba in 7.49.
Jamaican Maurice Wignal was fifth in 7.78.
Lloyd clocked 52.85 for third in the women’s 400 behind Americans Debbie Dunn, 52.35 and Ebonie Floyd 52.67.
The main highlight of the meet was an outstanding five thousand-metre win by Ethiopia’s Meseret Defar in 14, 24.79 seconds.
