Digicel Premier League Round Up
Harbour View continue their march towards capturing the 2009-2010 Digicel Premier League title with a comfortable 3-1 away victory over Waterhouse at Drewsland Stadium yesterday.
As a result of the victory, the ‘Stars of the East’ maintain their three-point lead atop the table, while Waterhouse suffered a major setback in their title quest.
Harbour View have now climbed to 51 points, three ahead of Tivoli Gardens, who defeated last place Arnett Gardens 1-0 at Anthony Spaulding Complex.
Waterhouse remain in third place on 41 points, 10 behind leaders Harbour View.
Meanwhile, Portmore United scored a come-from-behind 2-1 away victory over fourth place Boys’ Town at Collie Smith Drive to give new coach Neville ‘Bertis’ Bell his first Premier League victory from three games.
With the victory, Portmore have now climbed out of the relegation zone.
In other games, August Town bounced back to winning ways with a 2-1 victory over St George’s at UWI Bowl, Village United and Rivoli United played to a goalless draw at Elliston Wakeland Centre in Trelawny and the game between Sporting Central Academy and Humble Lions ended 1-1 at Brancourt in Clarendon.
