The Roman Catholic Church in Grenada is criticising the decision to introduce a new lottery game saying it will result in more Grenadians becoming addicts to gambling.
The church’s reaction comes against the background of the introduction of midday lottery draws by the National Lottery Authority.
Father Sean Doggett said the Roman Catholic Church leaders are dismayed by such a move.
He also said the new lottery game would raise false hope among citizens.
The new game joins the existing daily pick three games that offer players a chance of winning money twice a day.
