Buff Bay beat Oberlin in Eastern Championships

Buff Bay High won their first Eastern Athletics Championships title at the National Stadium a short while ago by dethroning 2009 champions Oberlin High in the two-day Jamaica National Building Society/Jamaica Public Service-sponsored meet.



Buff Bay, who trailed after yesterday’s opening day, ended with a combined total of 551 points, 20-and-a-half points over Oberlin High, who finished on 530-and-a-half.



The top two schools were well clear of Glengoffe High on 334-and-a-half points, Morant Bay on 328, Titchfield 224, St Mary’s High 163 and Yallahs High 158.



On their way to victory, Buff Bay High won the boys’ section with 264 and finished second in the girls’ section with 287 points, behind Oberlin High who tallied 334-and-a-half points.
