A Guyanese woman has pleaded guilty in Miami to a human trafficking charge.

Annita Devi Gerald is said to have brought at least one immigrant into the US for commercial gain.

She faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in jail and a $250,000 fine.

US Assistant Attorney General Lanny A. Breuer said the guilty plea has put another alien smuggling organizer out of business.
