Meadowbrook, Tarrant fight for title
Unbeaten Tarrant, replying to Meadowbrook High’s first innings total of 198, will resume this morning on 54 for four in the final of the urban area ISSA/First Global Bank ‘A’ League cricket competition at Melbourne Oval.
Today’s final day will start at 10 a.m.
On yesterday’s first day of the two-day final, Meadowbrook invited to take first knock, were bowled out two runs short of the 200-mark off 77.4 overs.
Jermaine Cole 58 and Adrian Smith 51 were the top scorers for Meadowbrook.
Bowling for Tarrant High, Ryan Edwards ended with three for 43, Roman Barracks had three for 52, while Matthew Cranston and Odain McKenzie finished with two wickets apiece.
Meanwhile, the semi-final round of the top-tier Grace Shield competition bowls off this morning at 10 a.m. with two matches.
Those semi-final round games are defending five-time champions Eltham against St Catherine at GC Foster College in Spanish Town and last year’s beaten finalist Inswood facing Excelsior High at Chedwin Park.
Both matches are also scheduled for two days.
