British Airlines flight crew voted to strike
Flight crews at British Airline have voted to take strike action over working conditions.
It’s the second strike ballot after a UK High Court ruling last December against a strike that was planned for 12 days over the Christmas and New Year period.
The worker’s union says no dates for the work stoppage have been set, however it has reiterated that the strike will not be carried out during the Easter holiday at the start of April.
Last October, British airlines announced that it was cutting 1,700 cabin crew positions and introducing a two-year pay freeze.
In light of the vote to take strike action, BA says it’s disappointed by the decision and believes it is unjustified.
The airline says it has been in negotiations with the workers and their union and it has expressed a commitment to have all issues resolved.
