CARICOM leaders and Mexican President, Felipe Calderon, have pledged to work more closely on areas of trade and economic cooperation.
This was agreed following talks at the Mexico, Caricom Summit in Cancun on Sunday.
The summit, which is the first of its kind, will be followed up with a similar gathering in Barbados in the next two years.
The leaders also spoke of the need to work on areas of cooperation that could be exploited to the benefit of both Caricom and Mexico.
