Guyana\'s main opposition Peoples National Congress Reform (PNCR) is threatening to derail the country\'s hosting of this year\'s Caribbean Festival of Arts (CARIFESTA).
The PNCR said this is an attempt to force the government to address a number of problems facing the country.
The party first issued the threat last Friday, at the end of a demonstration over the suspension of the license of a private television station.
Guyana\'s Culture Minister, Dr. Frank Anthony is questioning the opposition\'s targeting of the regional arts festival.
He said their threat is politically motivated.
