Zimbabwe beat Vice Chancellor’s Eleven

The touring Zimbabwe team completed a five-run victory over the University of the West Indies’ Vice Chancellor’s Eleven in their One-Day, limited over practice match at Frank Worrell Oval in Trinidad today.



Zimbabwe taking first strike were bowled out for 281 off 49.2 overs with Tatenda Taibu topscoring with 107.



Nekoli Parris and Yannic Cariah ended with two wickets apiece for the West Indies’ Vice Chancellor’s Eleven



Needing 281 for victory, the West Indies’ Vice Chancellor’s Eleven were restricted to 276 for eight off their allotted 50 overs.



Kraigg Brathwaith topscored with 80 while Nekoli Parris scored 73, Yannic Cariah 24 and Shane Dowrich 23.



Zimbabwe will now face West Indies in the series opener, a one-off 20/Twenty International on Sunday at the Queen’s Park Oval in Trinidad.
