Jamaica retain four-day title

Jamaica marched to their third consecutive four-day championship title when they defeated Trinidad and Tobago by an innings and 72 runs just after lunch on the third day of their final round WICB Regional first-class match yesterday.



The match was played at Progress Park in Grenada.



By securing maximum 12 points with the victory, the Jamaicans climbed to the top of the standings on 60 points, relegating Barbados, who ended their schedule last week on 57 points.



Following on 235 behind on first innings, T&T collapsed to 163 after resuming on 66 for four.



The spin pair of Bevon Brown and Odean Brown sliced through the lower half of T&T’s batting.



Bevon Brown ended with two for 22 and Odean Brown supported with two for 45.



Andre Russell was the most successful bowler for Jamaica with three for 34.



Daron Cruikshank with 35 and Justin Gullen with 27 scored most runs for T&T.



Final scores in the match:- Jamaica 379; T&T 144 and 163.
