Jamaica team returning tomorrow
Jamaica’s national cricketers are scheduled to arrive in the country tomorrow at 12.35 p.m. after marching to their third consecutive West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) four-day championship title yesterday.
Jamaica secured the title after defeating Trinidad and Tobago by an innings and 72 runs at Progress Park in Grenada inside three days.
By securing maximum 12 points with the victory, the Jamaicans climbed to the top of the standings on 60 points, relegating Barbados, who ended their schedule last week on 57 points.
The Leewards finished the season in third place on 34 points after beating Combined Campuses and Colleges yesterday.
However, Combined Campuses and Colleges, 24 points, will only know their final position when the fixture between Guyana and Windward Islands comes to a conclusion today at the National Cricket Stadium.
Windward Islands have won the crucial first innings points this morning.
The Windwards, replying to Guyana’s first innings total of 452, were 458 for nine at the lunch interval. They had resumed this morning on 371 for seven.
Lyndon James is undefeated on 67.
