St. Vincent disability study launched
The St Vincent and the Grenadines government has launched what it dubs the Right to Live study aimed at improving the lives of persons born with disabilities.
Health Minister Douglas Slater says the study is being done under the Bolivarian Alliance for the Americas (ALBA) in collaboration with the ministries of education and social development.
He says the survey will also determine why persons are born with disabilities and to devise corrective measures so that these persons can live a normal life.
Mr. Slater says while the study will be voluntary, citizens are encouraged to cooperate with the interviewers since the project is aimed at improving the lives of Vincentians living with disabilities.
Cuban health officials, who are already in St. Vincent to conduct the study, say the interviews will last for approximately one month.
