The European Union is this week expected to release the first tranche of 100 million euros in aid to help with rebuilding efforts in Haiti following the January 12 earthquake.
The EU had committed over 300 million euros or US$406 million in initial aid following the disaster.
The amount will be used to pay salaries and restore government buildings and key state infrastructure.
