Eltham in command against Meadowbrook
Reigning champions Eltham were in command against Meadowbrook High heading into today’s second and final day of their urban area Inter-Secondary Schools Sports Association/Grace Shield Premier League semi-final round encounter at Meadowbrook.
Taking first strike on yesterday’s opening day, Eltham posted 343 with captain and vice-captain, Kieno-Paul Sailsman, 110, and Joseph Dennie 115, scoring centuries.
National youth pacer Jermaine Cole four for 86 and Raymond Thompson three for 61 took most wickets for Meadowbrook.
Meadowbrook, in reply, closed the day on 62 for 2.
In other games, Innswood, Excelsior and St Catherine were in control of their fixtures.
Hosts Tarrant, batting a second time, against Innswood closed yesterday’s opening day on 37 for five after they were blown away for 92 in their first innings.
Innswood scored 302 for seven declared in their first innings.
Over at Excelsior, Wolmer’s replying to Excelsior’s 386 for six declared were struggling on 49 for four at stumps.
Over at Johns Road, Norman Manley batting a second time closed on 18 for three after making 102 in their first innings. St Catherine scored 193 for nine in their first innings.
