New York airport probe

US officials are investigating how a child was apparently allowed to direct planes at New York\'s JFK airport.

The probe comes after an audiotape caught the boy directing several pilots preparing for take-off on February 17.

The boy was reportedly with his father, a certified air traffic controller.

However, officials say the pilots on the tape did not appear to have been concerned that a child was giving them instructions.

The Federal Aviation Administration says action will be taken against the employees involved in the incident pending the outcome of its investigation.
