Munro hold on to lead

Defending boys’ champions Munro College secured victories yesterday over Excelsior and Tivoli Gardens to keep their perfect record in the Jamaica Hockey Federation/Inter-Secondary Schools Sports Association Under-19 competition.



The matches were played at the Mona Hockey turf.



Munro defeated third place Excelsior 2-0 and then hammered second place Tivoli Gardens 8-0 to stretch their lead in Zone ‘A’.



They have now moved to 12 points, six ahead of Tivoli Gardens. Excelsior remain on five points.



In the girls’ competition, defending champions and leaders Papine were held to a 0-0 draw by second place St Andrew, while fifth place Immaculate edged last place Campion College 1-0.



The competition continues this afternoon at 1 p.m. with Mona High facing Papine High in a bottom-of-the-table Zone ‘B’ game.
