Guyanese government unhappy with Caribbean Airline service
The Bharrat Jagdeo administration says it’s very concerned about high airfares, as well as the quality of air transportation service that is currently being provided between Trinidad and Guyana by Caribbean Airlines.
Government spokesman Dr Roger Luncheon says the issue is now before the cabinet, which is seeking to address the unreasonable fare structure and service provided by Caribbean Airlines to Guyana.
Last year, President Jagdeo met with the top management personnel from the airline, who promised a review of both the fare structure and services.
However, local officials say to date there has been no noticeable improvement.
Meanwhile, the government in Guyana says its considering encouraging more competition in airline travel in and out of the country.
