The Cuban government has scrapped a car importation programme that brought flashy new vehicles to the streets of Havana.
The government said in the online edition of the official Gazette, that there were irregularities in the programme.
However no details were given.
Since April last year, Cubans had been allowed to import vehicles to replace pre-1990 models, under the plan aimed at cutting fuel consumption and pollution.
The old models were then turned over to the government.
