Tivoli, Harbour View top of Premiership table
Defending Champions Tivoli Gardens recorded a 1-0 victory over sixth place Village United at the Edward Seaga Sports Complex yesterday to regain the lead in the Digicel Premier League.
Captain Navion Boyd scored the only goal of the contest in the 45th minute to push Tivoli Gardens to 57 points, the same as Harbour View. However, Tivoli are ahead courtesy of goal difference.
Harbour View, who entered the crucial third round with a three-point lead, suffered a 3-2 defeat to hosts Rivoli United at Spanish Town Prison Oval.
Third place Waterhouse were surprised 1-0 by visitors Humble Lions at Drewsland Stadium in a late game.
As a result of the victory, Humble Lions have moved to sixth place on 34 points, while Waterhouse remain on 43, now 14 points off the leaders.
Fourth place St George’s and fifth place Boys’ Town hold on to their position after they battled to a goalless draw at Collie Smith Drive.
In other games, Portmore United beat Sporting Central Academy 1-0 at Brancourt in Clarendon but remain bottom-of-the-table; while Arnett Gardens secured a 1-0 victory over August Town at Anthony Spaulding Complex.
