England batsman Jonathan Trott warmed up nicely for the first Test in Chittagong starting on Friday with an unbeaten 101 against Bangladesh ‘A’ on today’s second day of the three-day warm up match.

Trott retired after hitting 14 boundaries in three hours, while Ian Bell 47 and Matt Prior 73 not out also signalled their Test readiness.

England declared on 281 for 7 having been 68 for 3 overnight. Batting a second time, Bangladesh were 131 for 3 after making 201 in their first innings.

That left them with a narrow lead of 54 after two more James Tredwell wickets.

Trott\'s commanding knock of 101, coming after a lean run in South Africa, gives him a better than even-money chance that he has a role to play in the first Test.

Scores in the match so far Bangladesh ‘A’ 201 and 131 for three, England 281 for seven declared.
