No Sarwan for remainder of Zimbabwe series

Marquee batsman Ramnaresh Sarwan will take no part in the Zimbabwe series after being left out of a 14-man squad named today for the final three one-dayers.

The 29-year-old right-hander, who recently returned to competitive action following a two-month injury layoff, has been given extra time to recuperate before making a return to the Windies squad.

Predictably, energetic all-rounder Dwayne Bravo has been included in the squad after recovering from a finger injury sustained while playing in Australia’s 20/Twenty Big Bash in January.

He is one of two changes to the squad with his younger brother Darren also recalled after being dropped following the one-off 20/Twenty International in T&T.

The Bravos replace Dwayne Smith and Andre Fletcher, who were part of the squad for the first two One-Day Internationals in Guyana.

The five-match series is locked at 1-1 and the remaining matches are slated for the Arnos Vale Sports Complex in St Vincent on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

The remaining members of the Chris Gayle-led squad are Adrian Barath, Sulieman Benn, David Bernard, Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Narsingh Deonarine, Nikita Miller, Kieron Pollard, Denesh Ramdin, Ravi Rampaul, Kemar Roach and Darren Sammy.
