Adams to captain WIPA tournament
Former Jamaica and West Indies player Jimmy Adams will captain the West Indies Players’ Association (WIPA) Master team in a 20/20 Club Championships to be played at Guaracara Park in Trinidad next month.
The tournament has been organised by WIPA.
Apart from Adams, there are four other Jamaicans on the squad, Wavell Hinds, Leon Garrick, Denville McKenzie and Robert Haynes.
President of WIPA, Dinanath Ramnarine is also on the team, as well as former Trinidad and Tobago and West Indies leg-spinner Rajindra Dhanraj.
Also included are former West Indies great Curtly Ambrose and current coach of the West Indies Under-15 team Keith Arthurton.
The WIPA masters, will join 11 other teams vying for the first prize of US$150,000 in the inaugural tournament.
When the tournament starts on May 2, WIPA Masters will play the first game against UWI, Barbados.
