Haitian authorities have released from detention one of the last two American missionaries held for alleged child abduction.

The authorities handed over Charisa Coulter to personnel at the US embassy on Monday.

Forty- year old Laura Silsby, the leader of the Baptist group, is still being held at the police station near the airport.

On January 29, Haitian police arrested 10 Americans on charges that they tried to take 33 Haitian children out of the country into the Dominican Republic without proper documentation.

Authorities recently released eight of the missionaries, but held Silsby and Coulter, Silsby’s assistant, for further questioning.
