England against Bangladesh

Acting captain Alastair Cook hit an unbeaten 158 today to put England in control on today’s opening day of the first test against hosts Bangladesh at Zohur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium.



Cook led England to 374 for three at stumps after the visitors were sent into bat. Paul Collinghood is the other not out batsman. He is on 32.



Earlier, Kevin Pietersen emerged from his slump to hit 99 before being bowled out by spinner Abdur Razzak in the third session.



Debutant Michael Carberry 30 and Jonathan Trott 39 are also back in the pavilion.



Mahmudullah, Abdur Razzak and Rubel Hossain have taken the wickets to fall.
