Jamaica will take on Panama today in their final Group ‘A’ preliminary round game of the Women’s Under-17 World Cup qualifiers in Costa Rica.

The match, is the first of two Group ‘A’ games, and is scheduled to start tonight Jamaica time at 8 a.m.

The game is of academic interest as both teams are out of the race to qualify for the Women’s Under-17 World Cup later this year in Trinidad and Tobago.

Jamaica’s chances of qualifying were dashed on Saturday when they suffered their second straight loss, a 3-0 defeat to Mexico.

The Jamaicans had lost their opening contest 4-1 to Canada last Thursday.

Panama crashed out following a 2-1 defeat to Canada, also on Saturday.

Mexico and Canada will face off in the other Group ‘A’ encounter today. Both teams have already qualified for the semi-final.
