Beckham faces World Cup knockout

England’s David Beckham looks certain to miss the World Cup after tearing his Achilles tendon during AC Milan’s Series ‘A’ game with Chievo last night.
Beckham sustained the injury without coming into contact with anyone else, all but ending his hopes of featuring in a fourth World Cup for his country this summer.
Milan coach Leonardo says Beckham’s injury makes the club feel terrible.
Milan won the contest 1-0.
Beckham recently joined Milan for a second loan spell from the Los Angeles Galaxy in a bid to prove his fitness to England coach Fabio Capello.
