Prime Minister Bruce Golding has welcomed the inaugural Mojo 6 Raceway Golf tournament to Jamaica.

The tournament, confined to women and sanctioned by the Ladies Pro Golf Association, will take place at Cinnamon Hill Course in Montego Bay from April 13 to 16.

Prime Minister Golding says the tournament should boost the country’s image as a sports destination.

The tournament will see 12 elite female golfers, including six of the world’s seven top-ranked players competing for the US$1million prize money.

The tournament is expected to be viewed by about 100 million persons on the CBS network in the USA.
